Why organisations upgrade their access control

A modern access control system does more than let people through doors. It gives you real-time visibility of movement across your site, audit trails for compliance and investigations, and the operational efficiency of a system that scales as your business grows.

The right upgrade delivers:

  • Enhanced security — advanced authentication, real-time monitoring, instant deactivation of lost or stolen credentials
  • Operational efficiency — one system managing staff, contractors and visitors across every door, integrated with car parks and automatic entrances
  • Scalability — add doors, sites and user groups without replacing the underlying platform
  • Regulatory compliance — GDPR-compliant data handling and retention, with reporting that supports audits
  • Future-proof technology — cloud-enabled, mobile-ready, and compatible with emerging access methods

Where you’ll find our access control systems

MF Services installs access control systems across every major sector in Ireland:

  • Healthcare facilities — restricting access to medication storage, patient records, operating theatres and isolation rooms. Integrated with theatre control panels and interlock systems where clinical workflows demand it.
  • Pharmaceutical and life sciences — GMP-compliant access control for production suites, cleanrooms and sample storage areas.
  • Industrial and manufacturing — plant and process control areas, chemical storage, high-value materials handling.
  • Education — labs, libraries, student residences and administrative zones.
  • Hospitality — guest areas, back-of-house, cash offices and private function spaces, often integrated with Omnitec hotel lock systems.
  • Commercial and retail — cash rooms, employee-only areas, server rooms and visitor flows across office buildings and multi-tenant developments.
  • Residential developments — secure entry points, parcel rooms and amenity access for apartment communities.

Integration, aftercare and ongoing support

Access control is rarely a standalone system — it works best as part of a wider security and building infrastructure. Our systems integrate seamlessly with:

  • CCTV surveillance — Hanwha Vision Wisenet 9 cameras linked to access events for complete audit trails
  • Car park management — ANPR, barrier integration, visitor passes and permit management
  • Automatic entrance doors — card-triggered opening, interlock sequencing, out-of-hours overrides
  • Theatre and clinical interlock systems — paired door control for operating suites and controlled environments
  • Fire alarm integration — automatic release on alarm activation to maintain escape route compliance

The job isn’t finished at handover. MF Services provides long-term technical support, hardware warranties and scheduled maintenance — because an access control system that quietly stops working isn’t a security system any more.

How much does a system cost?

Access control pricing depends on the number of doors, the number of users, the access method (card, PIN, biometric or mobile), and whether you need integration with CCTV, car parks or building systems. We provide a custom quote after a short site consultation — typically within 48 hours of visit.

Can I control the system remotely?

Yes. Our cloud-based access control systems let you manage users, track entry logs, add or revoke access, and lock or unlock doors from a browser or mobile app — from anywhere with an internet connection.

What happens if there’s a power cut?

Our systems include battery backup to maintain security during power outages, with fire alarm integration that releases doors automatically to protect escape routes. Doors fail safely according to the system’s configured mode — fail-secure for high-security areas, fail-safe for escape routes.

Q: Is biometric access safe and GDPR-compliant?

Biometric access is one of the most secure authentication methods and is ideal for sensitive environments like laboratories, pharmaceutical areas and medical zones. Our deployments are configured for GDPR compliance — including appropriate data retention, encryption and user consent processes. We advise on compliance requirements as part of the specification.

Can we integrate access control with our existing CCTV or car park systems?

Yes. We integrate access control with Hanwha Vision Wisenet 9 CCTV, ANPR car park systems, automatic doors, hotel lock platforms and building management systems. If you already have systems from other suppliers, we assess compatibility during site survey.

Specifying access control for your project?

Whether you’re securing a single office or planning a multi-site enterprise rollout, our team can help you specify the right access control system for your operation. We supply, install, integrate and maintain systems across Ireland — with PSA-licensed engineers, GDPR-compliant deployment and long-term support.

Send us your door schedule, drawings or a few lines about what you need — we’ll come back with a specification, indicative pricing and a free site survey.

We’d love to hear from you.
