Project Overview

Client Background

Galway County Council is a local government body responsible for the administration and development of Galway’s towns and rural areas. The Council oversees local infrastructure, public amenities, and traffic management.

The Challenge

The existing pay and display machines across six towns including Tuam, Gort, Loughrea, Athenry, Ballinrobe, and Clifden only accepted coin payments. This outdated system limited user convenience and hindered overall payment efficiency.

The Goal

The aim was to modernise the parking infrastructure by installing new machines that supported card payments, including contactless options such as tap and Apple Pay, alongside traditional coin payments.
