Client Background 

Dunnes Stores is one of Ireland’s leading retail chains and serves communities nationwide. Many of these stores are in busy town centres where parking demand is high throughout the day. As part of a nationwide rollout, Dunnes Stores commissioned MF Services to implement a pay-and-display parking solution that facilitated parking fare reimbursements based on a set minimum in-store spend.

The Challenge

The client’s car parks were frequently used as free town-centre parking, limiting availability for customers shopping in Dunnes Stores.

As a long-standing client, Dunnes Stores engaged MF Services to deliver a pay-and-display parking solution while still offering free customer parking. So far, the system has been installed in seven centrally located town stores across Ireland.

The MS1 parking terminals feature a robust stainless-steel design with anti-graffiti protection, making them ideal for outdoor town-centre car parks. The high-brightness LED display ensures clear visibility, while the simple keypad layout allows easy use for all customers. The terminals have flexible payment options that accept both contactless and coin payments and can be configured to enforce a maximum stay of three hours.

The Data Management System provides real-time monitoring and performance reporting, giving the client’s management team clear insight into the effectiveness of the new system. It also alerts the MF Services team of any faults, helping to minimise downtime.

Together, these solutions provide Dunnes Stores with a fully integrated pay and display parking system.

Execution & On-Site Collaboration 

MF Services worked closely with Dunnes Stores from enquiry to final commissioning. Each store’s facilities were assessed to understand the layout, traffic flow and operational requirements. The installations were carefully scheduled during off-peak hours to avoid disruption.
